Service Description

We prioritize player development through our teaching style that is built upon the psychological principles of deep processing. Deep processing focuses on teaching strategies that ensure information is encoded and consolidated in a meaningful way to enhance learning and memory. We start this process by having all players take our approved personality tests that cater to all players' different learning styles. From here, we utilize this information to understand the most effective ways we can communicate and teach our players the skills set we are focusing on to ensure optimal development for the player. Our on ice skills include a variety of drills that focus on game specific scenarios that aim at improving hockey IQ and awareness. Through analysis of NHL and Pro Hockey players, we utilize video of these Pros to demonstrate specific skills we are focusing on, while also taking video of players during sessions to enhance visual perception. Furthermore, we incorporate interference such as a whistle, releasing players mid-drill, an extra player, etc. in our drills that challenge players to think in an unconscioius, instinctual state rather than relying on conscious, calculated strategies. This tactic of teaching facilitates our focus on deep processing so players can get the most out of all our sessions.
