We prioritize player development through our teaching style that is built upon the psychological principles of deep learning. Deep learning focuses on remembering and reconsolidating memories to enhance learning. We start this process by having players take our approved personality tests that cater to all different learning styles. From here, we utilize this information to understand the most effective ways we can communicate with and teach our players the skills set we are focusing on to ensure optimal development for the player.

 

Our on ice skills include a variety of drills that focus on game specific scenarios that aim at improving hockey IQ and awareness. Through analysis of NHL and Professional Women Hockey players, we utilize video of these Pros to demonstrate specific skills we are focusing on, while also taking video of players during sessions to enhance visual perception. Furthermore, we incorporate interference such as a whistle, releasing players mid-drill, an extra player, etc., in our drills for players to experience instinctual thinking just as they would in games. This tactic of teaching facilitates our focus on deep learning so players can get the most out of all our sessions.
